As a veteran my team and I fully support the Military on the Move Program, giving back to our U.S. Military. Here are the basics.
U.S. Military on the Move Program offers Cash Reward* for All Active Duty, Retired Military and Wounded Warriors. Military on the Move allows active and retired military members, and wounded warriors to earn a substantial Cash Reward* when they buy or sell a home. To qualify, an individual must be on active duty, must be retired from the military or must be a wounded warrior.
Receive a Cash Reward* based on the actual sales price of the home being purchased or sold, not a fixed price. For example: if a home is purchased at $225,000 and the commission earned by the broker representing the buyer is $6,750*, the buyer will receive a $1,350 Cash Reward* at settlement. The Cash Reward* is 20% of the commission earned by the broker representing the buyer. This applies to home sales and sellers as well. There is no dollar limit on the amount of the Cash Reward.
The Cash Reward will be paid at settlement.**
Receive quality services from Howard Hanna sales associates who specialize in servicing military members, who live and work in the market, and who are familiar with what’s involved in a military move.
If a military move takes an active or retired military member, or wounded warrior out of the area, we can refer them to a global network of over 500 premier real estate firms with 4,600 offices and 140,000 sales associates in over 30 countries around the world that also participate in the Military on the Move program.
Although the Military on the Move program cannot be used for rentals, if a retired or active military member, or wounded warrior plans to rent a home, our Howard Hanna Relocation and Development staff can still help. Our staff will provide comprehensive information about the area, counseling on local rental practices, and will even send information on listings that meet specific criteria.
If you’d like more information on this program, a referral to an agent that is willing to participate, or just general real estate advice please don’t hesitate to contact me, Lee Hisey, at 440-315-6000.
* The Cash Reward is 20% of the commission earned by the broker representing you. The total commission paid by the seller to the agent is typically divided between the real estate broker representing the seller and the real estate broker representing the buyer. In this illustration, the broker representing the buyer is paid a commission of 3% of the sales price, but that rate may vary.
